"We desired to have a more modern, elegant look to our home's staircase, so we decided to convert the existing white wooden balusters to more decorative hammered iron balusters. I called John Zeidner, the owner of Staircase Transformations, to discuss what he had to offer for our staircase conversion. He came out to our house to evaluate our staircase and show us the various designs and type of iron balusters he had to offer. John was extremely professional and prepared in showing his skills and talent. In his vehicle, he had a display case of the actual different types/colors of the balusters. You could touch, feel, and see the quality and designs of the materials that he had to offer.

John also had a book of pictures of the many different installations he had performed showing the staircase "before and after" transformations. Along with the picures, he also had customer reviews and references that could be contacted about his work.

After picking out the color and designs of the iron balusters to use, (which John was extremely helpful in offerring guidance for color and design to blend well with wood/stone floors and internal decor), John took notes and performed a rough drawing of the staircase. Within a day or two, we received a final sketch of our staircase with the chosen balusters and the proposed design pattern along with a price quote and contract for work if interested in moving forward with the transformation. We signed the contract and set a date for installation.

There was a delay in shipment on the balusters we had chosen and the installation date had to be moved back, but John stayed in touch about what was going on. He has excellent communication skills and stays on top of things. The installation took place as soon as the balusters were received and the staircase transformation was done in a day. John was very careful not to make a mess and cleaned up thoroughly when he was finished.

John is very meticulous and perfectionistic about his work. He even noticed that two of our staircase newel posts needed some poly, so he applied a clearcoat finish to them at no charge. John went over and beyond what was required and the staircase transformation was immaculate. Words can't even describe what a difference to the look and appeal of the house that this staircase transformation has made.
